Product Overview & Working Principle

The XQV YH3 Onion Jack is a specialized hydraulic swaging press used to form a pear‑shaped or mushroom‑head bulk at the fixed end of prestressing steel strands (PC strand). This swaged end creates a self‑anchoring mechanism through mechanical interlocking with the surrounding concrete (aided by spiral reinforcement or steel mesh). It effectively serves as a dead‑end anchor without requiring a separate P‑type anchorage.

Driven by a hydraulic pump station, the jack applies a precisely controlled axial thrust to swage the strand end. The hydraulic system ensures stable and adjustable pressure, allowing accurate crimping force for different strand diameters (e.g., φ15.24 mm, φ12.7 mm). By simply replacing the clamping wedges, the same machine can handle various strand specifications, offering excellent versatility.
